This section captures the charm, character, and unique identity of my hometown Melbourne. The striking common brick pattern across the series aims to transform the canvases into virtual brick walls—an homage to the city’s deep-rooted love for street art and murals. The theme, inspired during the Covid restrictions, celebrates the beauty of the often-overlooked details in the street network, architecture and natural beings found within our 5K radius—a tribute to the small wonders that escape our notice amidst our daily hustle and bustle. As always, I also pay tribute to Melbourne’s shining bird icons, from the pervasive Noisy Miners to the vibrant parrots and bring their beauty and significance to life on canvas.
